Density of Liquids

1) Weigh the vial, record data
2) Put 10 ml of water in the vial, record amount.
3) Weigh the vial with the liquid in it. Record data.
4) Subtract the weight of the vial from the weight of the liquid & vial. This is the mass of the liquid. Record data.
5) Divide the mass of the liquid by the volume of the liquid. This is the density of the liquid. Record data.

1. Describe the results when you added all 5 liquids to the larger beaker.

2. Why did you get the results that you did?

3. What is density?

4. Make a graph of the density of liquids. Put the densities in order from

lowest density to highest density on the graph.
